I like to work quickly and allow a loose narrative to emerge, one that may extend off the paper to the next scene, or into the peripheral space. There is a visual collage happening using a variety of ink and paint delivery methods. I use brush, pen, paper, tissue, etc. to apply the ink. I rarely have preconceived ideas about the direction the piece is going, but each mark informs the next and through this improvisation, relationships, critiques, and moods come to the surface. Then a decision has to be made about how to complete the work and move to the next piece.
